Lodes Way

The National Trust has long supported sustainable transport and encouraged visitors to reach its properties by public transport, on foot or by bicycle.

Anglesey Abbey and Wicken Fen are linked by the recently completed Lodes Way (see the National Trust and Sustrans maps).

The Lodes Way is a 9 mile cycle route developed by the National Trust from Wicken Fen to Anglesey Abbey and on to Bottisham. It forms part of National Cycle Network Route (NCN) 11.

It crosses fenland and comes close to local villages. New bridges have been built to enable the lodes to be crossed and extensive tree planting on White Fen, supported by the local community, will bring added interest to the landscape. There are a wild camping shelters along the route.
